Mercedes-Benz today unveiled the all New E Class Coupe in Mumbai. Priced at Rs 54.83lakhs (ex-showroom Mumbai), the company expects the car to redifine the luxury and driving with this new car. The sporty looking muscular machine will be available through Mercedes Benz dealerships across India.
Speaking on the occassion, Dr Wilfred Aulbur, managing director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said, "The car with its expressive styling, state-of-the-art technology and high safety standards meets the need of young individuals looking for a car that is athletic, striking and passionate. The V shaped bonnet, twin headlamps, and the three-star on the grille makes the car look more muscular than ever before."
The E Class Coupe, the officials say, is the most aerodynamic series productionc car in the world with a drag coefficient of 0.24 only.
The car is powered with a 3.5litre V6 petrol engine offering 27hp@6000rpm. The product also offers safety standards like attention assist, selective damper control, pre-safe technology and intelligent lighting system.
The car is reflected by no B-pillar and high quality interiors with exquisite touch. The arrow shape of the entire front section coupled with its lean build gives the car a sportier and dynamic look.
The Coupe design is still a new concept for Indian automobile and with this launch, officials say they want to break the mould and come out with new and exciting products which will interest the new age buyers as well.
Dr Aulbur said that the company expects the sales to grow double digit and that 2010 is an exciting year for the company as more product launches can be expected in the near future.
He also said that contrary to widespread speculation over the launch of A Class in India, the company doesn't have any such plans as the small car segment is already packed and that they would like to concentrate on premium sedans.
