Mercedes-Benz has joined the celebration of India’s 70 years of Independence with the launch of the ‘Celebration Edition’ of their mid-size luxury SUV, the GLC. The limited edition GLC gets a few premium additions over the top-spec GLC Sport trims and a new shade of red.
The GLC Celebration Edition is available with both the 220d and the 300 petrol engines and are priced at Rs 50.86 lakhs and Rs 51.25 lakhs respectively for the diesel and petrol variants. The Celebration Edition GLC gets additional chrome accents on the air intakes along with the existing large chrome grille along with a chrome strip added on the tailgate as well.
It gets sporty AMG-style gloss black wing mirrors along with LED logo projectors fitted on the exit lamps of the doors. Inside the cabin, the driver gets sporty stainless steel pedals along with a Garmin Maps navigation.
Being based on the fully-loaded trim, three-zone climate control, panoramic electric sunroof, leather upholstery with power seats, auto-dimming power mirrors etc. are all a part of the standard feature list along with the seven-airbags and the electronic stability program for safety.
The GLC 220d gets the 2143cc four-pot turbodiesel that develops 168bhp of power and 400Nm of torque while the GLC300 comes with turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that pumps out 241bhp of power and 370Nm of torque. Both the engines come mated to nine-speed automatic gearboxes along with torque-on-demand all-wheel drive.
