Even though its bringing in decent sales for Mercedes India, the current-gen of the E-Class is due to be replaced soon. Interestingly, the next-gen will be introduced in the more desirable long-wheelbase version.
The new E-Class long-wheelbase, in fact, will be officially launched on February 28. This stretched version of the E is currently sold in China only where there is a huge demand for long wheelbase luxury sedans.
Based on the standard W213 gen E-Class which was unveiled in early 2016, the long-wheelbase model gets the new-gen Mercedes look that’s more streamlined and less pointy. What’s more, the added sheet metal in the wheelbase only emphasizes the S-Class-like stance that the new E enjoys.
The long-wheelbase version exceeds the standard E-Class sedan in terms of both wheelbase (3079mm) and the length (5m). Naturally, the added length has improved the rear seat comfort – the legroom is up by 134mm and the ingress/egress is noticeably better as well.
