Mercedes-Benz has revealed yet another crossover concept in the form of the GLC Coupe. Unveiled just ahead of its public debut at the 2015 Auto Shanghai, this new model is a near-production design study that carries the GLE Coupe formula over into a more compact segment.
Based on the second generation GLK, the GLC concept looks a lot like its bigger sibling, the GLE coupe. Measuring 4.73m in length and with a 2.83m wheelbase, the GLC features an elongated greenhouse and large 21-inch wheels, thus providing an ideal basis for a typical, high-riding crossover.
Under the hood of the concept sits a V6 power plant that delivers 367bhp of power and 520Nm of torque. Familiar from AMG sports models, the direct-injection bi-turbo engine is paired with a 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission and 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive system.
More details on the Concept GLC Coupe will be disclosed closer to its public unveiling at the ongoing 2015 Auto Shanghai.
