Mercedes-Benz will launch the new E350 CDI tomorrow at their Centre of Excellence, in Chakan, Pune. The E-Class is the largest selling car from their portfolio and the manufacturer will add another variant to that range with this model. This car boasts of a six-cylinder engine and the Intelligent Drive technology that the company claims to be a benchmark in safety.
The Mercedes-Benz E350 CDI will carry forward the legacy of the E-Class with the addition of more elegance, distinction and power. The car's cabin will adorn premium materials while the automaker has thrown in a couple of attractive features for the interior. This includes the Intelligent Drive Technology that the E250 is also equipped with. The vehicle might also get the Distronic Plus adaptive cruise control with Steering Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, pedestrian recognition, Cross Traffic Assistant, blind-spot warning, adaptive high-beam lights and automatic parking.
The four-door premium sedan will be powered by a 3.5-litre V6 diesel engine which churns out around 300bhp of power. The manufacturer might slightly detune this mill for the Indian market for it to produce power on the likes of 280bhp or so. The motor will come mated to the company's 7G-tronic automatic gearbox, while the power will be sent to the rear wheels.
The E350 CDI will be slotted above the E250 CDI in Mercedes-Benz's line-up and will become the new top-of-the-line diesel variant in the E-Class. The company might price the new sedan in the range of Rs 50 lakh to Rs 60 lakh. Stay tuned to CarWale as we bring you all the action from the launch event tomorrow.
