Setting foot into its 125 years in the Automotive Sector, Mercedes Benz today unveiled its off-roader, the G Wagon in Mumbai today. The G-Class is the longest passenger series and the flagship model, the G-55 is what has made its way into the Indian market. The G-55 AMG is equipped with a supercharged 5.5-litre V8 engine which delivers 507 bhp and 700Nm torque. Priced at 1.1 crore (ex-showroom Mumbai) Mercedes has already received 14 orders from India and the vehicle will be hitting the Indian shores by this week.
The off-roader reaches a top-speed of 210 kmph and hence boasts of sports car heart. The SUV stands tall on 275/55 R 19 tyres and the 5-spees automatic transmission makes the drive a breeze. The G-55 is also equipped with Hill start assist and ESP. The two oval chrome-plated tailpipes add to the sporty look of the car.
The G-55 gets leather interiors as standard and gets silver-coloured designo emblems on the front seat backrests. The off-roader is also equipped with the latest generation COMAND APS Mercedes telematics, reversing camera and rear seat entertainment as a standard option. The G-55 with its off-roading capabilities will be something of a show-stopper and with the 507 bhp engine will be a blur when it schorches on the highway. If you have the 1.1 crore and don't know what to do with it, then this is one car you can definetly think about; else keep a look out for this monster as it grrrrrs! its way on the streets.
