Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the new E-Class Coupe, Cabriolet and Estate versions just a month after it took the wraps off the 2014 E-Class sedan. The global range now has four models and all of them will be officially launched at the Detroit Auto Show in few days.
The three models will get the same design, features as well as engine line up that will power the sedan. Of course there will be few model specific changes like the cabriolet gets a convertible roof while the estate version obviously has a much bigger boot.
The most evident change was to the front of the sedan and these models have got exactly the same design. The split headlamp assembly is now integrated to form a single console that adds some aggression to the design. Also the LED daytime running lamps have now moved up to be a part of the headlamp assembly, instead of straight line on the bumper.
The German automaker has also revised the hood and the front bumper to give them a sharper and more imposing profile. At the back, there are minor changes including new exhaust tips and a re-profiled tail lamp cluster.
Inside, the car has carried over most of the design from its predecessor save for a revision to the dashboard and a brushed aluminium finish to add a little shininess to the cabin. Under the hood, the engines are all the same with addition of a 2.1-litre turbo-diesel mill which is expected to be introduced only after the car is launched.
We can expect the new E-Class range to arrive in the subcontinent in the coupe, cabriolet and sedan versions (the market for estate cars is very small in India) a few months after its global launch.
