Mercedes-Benz has chalked out aggressive plans to provide further momentum to the spirit of motoring in India. Towards this end, the company has announced its three pronged strategy for the Indian market:
• Automobile partner for Buddh International Circuit: Mercedes-Benz and JPSI have concluded an agreement whereby Mercedes-Benz cars will be utilized as safety / monitor cars for all events at the track
• Pan-India activations for Motorsports: The company announced rollout of aggressive plans to popularize motorsports through promotional activities, road shows and dealership activations across India• Performance Driving Academy: Mercedes-Benz and JPSI together plans to set up a Performance Driving Academy in 2012 to foster talent and popularize performance driving.Performance is the heart of the brand DNA of Mercedes-Benz. Mr. Peter Honegg, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India elaborated further, “Mercedes-Benz is a performance brand and our long association with Motorsports is a testimony to this fact. It has been our endeavour to enable more people to experience the performance and dynamism of our cars, and we will continue to do so in times to come.” He added, “My earlier experience in China and Southeast Asia shows that once sports like Formula One features in, consumer interest also increases significantly.”
