Mercedes-Benz will launch its luxury compact crossover, the GLA-Class in Malaysia on November 7. The announcement was made through the German carmaker’s FB page.
The details are still scarce about the variants and specifications of the vehicle, but rumours indicate that it will be launched in two trims – GLA 200 and GLA 250. The GLA 250 will be powered by a 2.0 litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 211bhp and 350Nm of torque. This engine will be mated to 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
Mercedes Malaysia, launched the CLA-Class in CLA 200 and CLA 45 AMG trims. But, sources indicate that might not be the case with the GLA and it would be launched in the regular trims and the AMG might be part of the line-up.
Mercedes-Benz launched the GLA-Class in India on September 30, 2014 and immediately followed it up with the hot GLA 45 AMG. The GLA is available in diesel and petrol in India, unlike the petrol only options that might be presented in Malaysia.
