Mercedes-Benz India will add another car to their AMG range on December 2. The latest entrant is the SLK55 AMG, a two-seater hand-top convertible, offering a perfect blend of aesthetics and performance.
The SLK55 AMG is powered by a 5.5-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine good for 421bhp and 540Nm of torque. The power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 7G-TRONIC transmission that propels the car from standstill to 100kph in 4.6 seconds.
The SLK55 AMG can be distinguished from the standard SLK 350 by looking at the AMG front and rear aprons, side skirting, ventilated / perforated disc brakes, 18-inch alloys and Nappa leather seats. The mechanical changes to the car also include AMG sport suspension, performance oriented Torque Vectoring Brake and AMG Direct-Steer system.
The SLK55 AMG will come to India as a CBU in a very niche segment. Stay tuned to CarWale for price and other details live from the launch event.
