The global launch of the M-Class has happened a while ago, and now Mercedes-Benz is gearing up for the launch of the new ML-Class in India sometime in mid-year. The Mercedes-Benz India has pulled up its socks, as the new ML-Class will come into the country as a knockdown version and shall be assembled at the company's Chakan plant.
The CKD version will help them to slash the prices and the cars will be available at a lower cost, making the ML a highly competitive product. Sometime next year, the GL-Class will also be imported in the country as a complete knockdown version and get assembled in Chakan.
At the moment, the company is expanding its plant to increase the production capacity from 10,000units/year to almost double the capacity. The paintbooth will also get functional by mid of this year.
