Mercedes-Benz India will launch the 2013 G63 AMG for the Indian market on February 19. It will replace the current G55 AMG that was introduced more than a year ago. This machine is considered to be one of the most powerful off-roader available in the market today and has been on sale since in the non AMG avatar since the mid 1970’s.
The G63 will be powered by a 5.5litre AMG bi-turbo V-8 engine which develops a peak power of 536bhp and 530Nm of torque. The engine is mated to 7-speed automatic gearbox that has been re-engineered for better and smooth shifts. In terms of design, there hasn’t been much change compared to its predecessor. However, the company has re-designed the front bumper to make space for large air-intakes.
Given that this is the flagship SUV for the German automaker, we can expect them to fit all the latest toys and kit to the G63 AMG in addition to the usual luxuries found on the vehicle. Mercedes-Benz India is likely to price the G63 somewhere in the range of Rs 1.55 crore.
