A facelifted version of the Mercedes-Benz SL coupe has been spotted on test ahead of its official debut later this year. The pictures reveal mostly cosmetic changes which by the look of things is a mid-life update for the German automaker’s two-door hardtop.
The overall profile remains the same as before but what are new are the headlamps, tail lamps both the bumpers and the grille. There are no pictures of the cabin as yet but we know for sure that the updates will include a new COMMAND system and ambient lighting options which have now become common across more of the Three-pointed Star’s models.
There are expected to be no changes on the mechanical front which means the SL will continue to be offered with a V8 engine in the SL400 version as well as in V8 configuration in the SL500 and SL63 AMG versions. The top-of-the-line SL65 AMG will continue with the 6.0-litre V12 that produces 620bhp and 1000Nm of torque.
The SL-Class is currently not offered in India but considering how quickly and effectively Mercedes-Benz India is launching its products here, the SL may just show up as a surprise.
