It seems like testing is underway for the upcoming Mercedes-Benz S-Class Pullman. A heavily camouflaged test mule of the limousine was spotted testing abroad recently.
The 6.4-metre long luxury limousine with six doors is expected to make its debut in 2016 after the S-Class Maybach that is set to be unveiled next month at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The S-Class Pullman might boast seating for six, and set new standards in luxury.
It might be powered by a 6.0-litre twin turbo, V12 engine producing 523bhp and 830Nm of torque. The source that spotted the test mule claims that it was travelling at 230kmph on the highway. These are early days to predict the pricing but according to rumours the 5.3-tonne armoured version is expected to cost approximately 1 million USD (Rs 6.14 crore).
A vehicle like the S-Class Pullman would be pointless in India, where vehicles as long as the standard S-Class are big for our roads. We are not sure if Mercedes will launch it in India, but we are sure it makes sense for senior government officials who can only make way through heavy traffic in India, without stopping.
