Mercedes-Benz has just dropped a teaser video of the upcoming S-Class Cabriolet. The drop-top S-Class will make its global debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month. The S-Class Cabriolet’s debut comes months after the S-Class sedan and coupe received a mid-life update.
The teaser video completely reveals the folding-top mechanism of the convertible. The shape and design of the soft-top are similar to the one seen on the Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 Cabriolet concept showcased at the Pebble Beach last week. We only got a brief glimpse of the cabin in the video. But it seems that the interior retains all the opulence that one might expect from a Mercedes-Benz flagship convertible.Â
Although not shown in the teaser video, the Cabriolet will come with mild updates to the headlights and tail lights. The bumpers and the avant-garde front grille too will sport some minor design tweaks. Even the alloy wheels are expected to undergo changes in design. Overall, this sedan is guaranteed to offer more creature comfort and additional equipment inside its rich interiors.
Under the hood, the Cabriolet would be powered by the same set of engines as its hardtop counterpart. A newly developed 3.0-litre V6 engine will debut as an entry-level variant, offering around 360bhp. The powerful S63 and S65 variants will also be available with fire-breathing V12 under the hood. However, the most sought-out variant will be the S560 with a practical 4.0litre V8 pushing out around 460bhp.
Mercedes-Benz will showcase 100 models at the Frankfurt stage. CarWale will be there to bring you all the exclusive coverage. So, stay tuned.
