Mercedes-Benz portfolio in India is all set to increase further with the launch of two new convertibles – the S-Cabriolet and the C-Cabriolet. The S-Cabriolet which was last showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo comes forth without a predecessor in India, while the C-Cabriolet which makes its debut, is the first convertible in the history of the C-Class.
The S-Class Cabriolet is the sixth variant of the current S-Class family and the first open-top luxury four-seater from the company since 1971. The S-Cabriolet will be the S500 variant which is powered by a 4.7-litre twin-turbo V8 engine which generates 442bhp of power and 700Nm of torque. The C-Class Cabriolet on the other hand completes Mercedes-Benz line-up of open-top four-seaters with classic soft tops. The C-Class will arrive in the C300 variant which will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-charged engine that generates 241bhp and 370Nm of torque.
Both the cars will be introduced in the country via the CBU route and will be priced higher than their hard top siblings. Additional details about the new convertibles will be known tomorrow post the official launch.
