Mercedes-Benz has begun 2016 by releasing a new teaser sketch for the next-generation E-Class which is expected to break cover at the Detroit Motor Show. The teaser sketch follows months of spy shots and eventually an official video of the new car’s interiors.
The sketch reveals a long and low body with a large hood and little overhang at the rear, a standard Mercedes-Benz philosophy in its current design language. The E-Class gets its distinct look from the C-Class and S-Class from the shape of the headlights and it looks like this car will be no different.
While this teaser is expected to hint at what the design will be like reports suggest that the car in the sketch may actually be the four-door version of the CLE-Class (previously known as the CLS). The new E-Class will continue to ride on the MRA platform and will be offered with a variety of petrol and diesel engines.
In the larger scheme of things, we believe that the new E-Class will come to India just a few short months after the car is launched in Europe.
