On sale globally since July 2011, the Mercedes Benz ML-Class is nearing its mandatory mid-life makeover. Currently in its third generation, the popular full-size premium SUV is in dire need of a refresh, more so now that the all-new 2015 BMW X5 has arrived in the market.
One of the test mules of the facelifted ML has been spied while leaving the factory in Stuttgart, Germany. Given the scale of camouflage the car is seen wearing, Mercedes seems to be working on a comprehensive facelift, and not just a quick nip and tuck.
Like the latest-gen W212 E Class, the upcoming ML facelift sports a whole new front-end look complete with a new pair of headlamps, revised grille and a sportier looking bumper. As for the mechanical upgrades, expect Mercedes to bring out a revised version for each of its existing power-train options. Additionally, the new ML could also feature a new hybrid model.
Mercedes is expected to showcase the new ML at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, following it up with a launch sometime early next year.
