The Mercedes-Benz Maybach S600 has been priced at 190,275 USD (Rs 11,737,439.67) and will be launched in April. The S600 Maybach revives one of the German automaker’s most famous monikers after a 2.5-year hiatus but this time as a sub brand of the S-Class range rather than a stand-alone model like its predecessor. The car was revealed through a set of teasers before being unveiled at the 2014 LA Auto Show.
The S600 Maybach is basically a stretched out version of the standard S-Class LWB, which means, in addition to the all the luxuries you get in the S-Class there is also additional room inside. The added length also translates into significantly higher boot space. It looks just like the S-Class in every respect but obviously far longer.
The S600 Maybach, as the name suggests, is powered by a 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 mill that produces 522bhp and 830Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear-wheels via a seven-speed AMG spec AT.
It will be joined over the course of 2015 by the S500 Maybach, Maybach-spec GLS and the S400 Maybach which is a China specific model. However, even bigger than this will be the S600 Pullman which will debut later this year but most probably only be offered as a Guard variant.
We in India will get the Maybach brand name but in the S500 variant and obviously on a made-to-order basis only.
