Mercedes is rumoured to be working on the facelifted version of its popular SUV the M-Class. The facelifted M-Class may get numerous design changes andsome could be major.
According to a report by a website expected changes are likely to be a redesigned front-end to bring the M-Class in sync with the current Mercedes family of vehicles. The front, as a result, may get a larger more prominent front grille and new headlight clusters, like those seen on the new S-Class and C-Class models. The rear might get a lower rear bumper which incorporates the dual exhausts and updated rear light clusters.
The vehicle may additionally get new trim and material upgrades inside the cabin to augment its premium image. The dashboard may integrate a large central infotainment system with Merc’s new COMAND infotainment system.
There may not be any major changes in the powertrain department though minor tweaks to the existing range of motors can be in the pipeline. Mercedes may also be considering a new hybrid model and pit it against Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid.
The facelifted M-Class could hit the markets by as early as 2015, and is likely to be unveiled by this year.
Mercedes officials at the launch of the new S-Class announced that they will be launching more than four models in India this year. The German luxury car maker having launched the S-Class is all set to launch the GL63 AMG on April 15, which will be followed by the CLA45 AMG and most probably the GLA crossover.
