Mercedes-Benz has launched the ML 250 CDI for Rs 46.50 lakh (ex-showroom Maharashtra). A toned down version of the ML 350 CDI, it is the first locally assembled SUV from Mercedes-Benz India. The ML 250 CDI is powered by a 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine which churns out 204bhp and 500Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission. On the outside Mercedes has fitted the SUV with Bi Xenon lights, LED daytime running lamps, electric sunroof, 18 inch ten spoke light alloy wheels and aluminium running boards. Inside, the ML 250 CDI has been given electric powered seats with four way lumbar supports, Poplar wood trim, ambient lighting along with the usual luxuries that one can expect to find in a Mercedes-Benz.
Along with the launch of the ML 250, Mercedes-Benz also announced the start of operations of its new paint-shop located within its Chakan facility. The facility is capable of water based painting using environment friendly technology. The paint shop of Mercedes-Benz India is fully automated and maintains identical painting standards in line with the global standards of Daimler.
Speaking on the opening of the paint shop, Piyush Arora, director, technical, Mercedes-Benz India said, “The new Paint Shop at Mercedes-Benz India Chakan facility now positions us as a global benchmark within Mercedes-Benz world.”
