German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz has introduced the GLS 400 4MATIC petrol in India priced at Rs 82.90 lakh (Ex-showroom, New Delhi). The petrol variant has been launched after three months of the diesel variant being introduced in India, thereby offering more options to customers. There are no design or feature upgrades and changes are limited to the petrol engine being offered under the hood.
The new Mercedes-Benz GLS 400 4MATIC is powered by 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine which puts out 330bhp of power and 400Nm of torque. Mated to a 9-G TRONIC 9-Speed automatic transmission, the vehicle is capable of achieving a top speed of 240kmph. The petrol version also comes with five different driving modes such as - Comfort, Sport, Slippery, Individual and Off-road. For safety, features like PRE-SAFE system, BAS Brake Assist, the electronic all-wheel drive traction system 4ETS, ESP with Curve Dynamic Assist and cruise control are offered as standard.
As for the interior, the petrol GLS variant also gets panoramic sunroof, COMAND Online with 8-inch high resolution media display and touchpad while also allowing smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay. Moreover, the Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround sound system mesmerises occupants with authentic surround sound quality. Mercedes-Benz has revealed that the company will be launching four more models in India before the end of this year.
