Mercedes-Benz launches the CGI technology in India and the C-Class C200 CGI BlueEfficiency variant today. The CGI technology is petrol direct injection system with spray guided combustion process.
The new C200CGI BlueEfficiency will replace the C200K. The C200K had a supercharged engine (code name:M271) while the new engine (code name: M271 Evo) is turbocharged and now has direct fuel injection. The new engine produces more torque at lower rpm and have reduced emissions and Mercedes-Benz claims it to be more fuel efficient.
The new C200 CGI BlueEfficiency has a 1796cc petrol engine (basically the same block which was used on C200K) which produces 186bhp and 285Nm of torque. The new sedan costs Rs 28.44lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Last week the German manufacturer based out in Chakan introduced the stratified V6 and V8 direct injection and today they have introduced the direct fuel injection.
