Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has introduced the C-Class Cabriolet at RM358,888 (Rs 57.91 lakh) for the C200 Cabriolet, RM388,888 (Rs 62.75 lakh) for the C250 AMG Line Cabriolet, and RM443,888 (Rs 71.62 lakh) for the C300 AMG Line Cabriolet.
This Cabriolet is essentially a convertible version of the C-Class coupe, and hence uses similar design cues. However, as the C250 Cabriolet and C300 Cabriolet get the AMG Line package, these cars sport the aggressive looking front and rear bumpers, prominent side skirts, and the ornamental chrome highlights on the grille.
Powering the C-Class Cabriolet is a 2.0-litre turbocharged motor which is available in three different states of tune and is mated to a 9G-Tronic auto transmission. While this engine makes 184bhp and 300Nm in the C200 Cabriolet, it is tuned to make 211bhp and 350Nm in the C250 Cabriolet, and 245bhp and 370Nm in the C300 Cabriolet.
MB’s C-Class Cabriolet has a fabric roof that opens and shuts in 20 seconds, can be operated at speeds of up to 50kmph, and when folded, boot space reduces from 360litres to 285litres. Some of the features included on the C-Class Cabriolet are the LED intelligent headlights, adaptive high beam assist, leather upholstery, a Burmester surround music system with navigation, reverse camera, sports suspension, active park assist, and active brake assist.
Mercedes-Benz India has not confirmed any plans of introducing the C-Class Cabriolet in our market.
