Mercedes has begun taking bookings for the GLE coupe in Japan and prices range from 8,900,000 to 17,800,000 Japanese Yen (Rs 53.11 lakh to 1.06 crore).
This vehicle serves to aid buyers with the style of a coupe while incorporating the convenience of an SUV. Mercedes’ GLE coupe line-up will include a 350d 4Matic, the AMG 43 4Matic and the AMG 63 S 4Matic. The 350d uses a 3.0-litre V6 that makes 258bhp and 619Nm of torque and is coupled to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The AMG 43 4Matic is equipped with a 367bhp motor that delivers 519Nm of torque. 0-100kmph is dispatched in a claimed 5.7sec. Finally, the AMG 63 S 4Matic uses a 5.5-litre V8 twin-turbo motor that produces 585bhp and a maximum torque of 760Nm.
Exterior design cues for the GLE coupe design is characterised by the muscular fenders, pronounced wheel arches, a high belt line and a ground clearance to match that hefty appearance. Mercedes Japan added that the GLE coupe should hit showrooms in August this year. Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz in India sells the 367bhp AMG 450 AMG and has not revealed any plans to introduce the other two variants as of now.
