The Mercedes-Benz S-Class coupe is by itself a special car. It’s got two doors but is bigger than most of the sedans in the market. The benchmark coupe from the German manufacturer now gets a special edition to make it even more exclusive. Called the “Night Edition”, the special edition S-Class Coupe goes all black.
To start with, the special edition Coupe comes with an AMG-inspired single slat grille finished in gloss black. Front and rear bumpers get AMG fittings as standard. The AMG-spec 20-inch multi spoke alloy wheels are also done in black and is garnished with a lustre-finished rim flange. Also completed in gloss black finish are the mirror housing and side sills.
There is a "Night Edition" badge on the front fenders. Mercedes-Benz is also making available an optional paintwork which they call as the “selenite grey magno”. This matte finish paintwork features high-quality special-effect pigments, according to the manufacturer.
The ‘dark night’ theme continues on the inside as well though images of the cabin are revealed by Mercedes, as yet. There is Night Edition engraved on the AMG steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather. The upholstery gets an option of Nappa leather or black AMG Nappa leather in multiple colour combinations which can be chosen according to the individual taste of the customer.
Available with all the three engine variant of the S-Class Coupe – the S 400 4MATIC Coupé, S 500 Coupé or S 500 4MATIC Coupé, the Night Edition will make its world premiere at the Detroit auto show in January 2017. After which, it will go on sale in Europe in April and US debut to follow in August. Prices haven't been revealed by the German manufacturer, but bookings for the Night Edition will commence from January 9, 2017.
