Mercedes-Benz is set to expand its S-Class range here in India with the launch of the new S 400. Set to arrive on March 29, the S 400 is the new petrol version of the S-Class that will join the likes of the S 350d diesel and the S 500.
The biggest change in the S 400, compared to the rest of the S-Class range, is under the hood wherein you will find a 3-litre, V6 turbo engine developing 330bhp and 480Nm of torque. As for the gearbox, Mercedes is expected to pair this engine with their new 9-speed automatic gearbox that will send power to the rear wheels.
When launched, the new S 400 will be positioned below the existing S 500 which gets a twin-turbo V8. By adding this new model, Mercedes India will have a comprehensive line-up of the S-Class including V6 diesel, V8 petrol and V12 petrol engine options.
