Mercedes-Benz India announced a 32 per cent growth in their annual sales for 2013. The automaker sold 9,003 cars in the country from January to December 2013. The manufacturer had sold 6,840 cars in the same period in 2012.
Mercedes-Benz showed a growth of 16 per cent from January to June in 2013 which was further enhanced by 45 per cent from July to December in the same year. The company accredits this progress to the ‘Year of Offensive’ strategy which majorly aimed at the four areas- products, network, cost of ownership and brand experiences. The company launched eight new products across different categories. Their dealer network expanded to nine cities in India like Baroda, Coimbatore, Gurgaon, Lucknow, New Delhi, New Mumbai, Noida, Pune, and Rajkot.
The year 2013 also witnessed the launch of low cost of ownership initiatives like the ‘My Mercedes’ programme. The ‘Centre of Excellence’ was also inaugurated which is located within the company’s production facility in Pune. Mercedes-Benz is also going to launch the new S-Class within a few days.
