Mercedes-Benz India may launch the 2014 E-Class for the Indian market on June 25. The 2014 car was unveiled at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show and has imbibed the German automaker’s new design philosophy.
The 2014 E-Class features a new grille as well as a new headlight design that is now expected to be common across its entire range from this year onwards. They bumper design has also been revised and the LED daytime lamps have been integrated with the headlight assembly.
The German automaker has also revised the hood and the front bumper to give them a sharper and more imposing profile. At the back, there are minor changes including new exhaust tips and a re-profiled tail lamp cluster. Inside, the 2014 E-Class has retained most of the design of its predecessor save for some changes to the dashboard and addition of an aluminium finish across the cabin.
The India spec E-Class is expected to be offered with the same set of mills as the outgoing car; four petrol and three diesel engines. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic in the diesels and a seven-speed automatic for the petrol variants.
We expect that Mercedes-Benz will bring at least one AMG spec variant vehicle to Indian market when it launches the car at the end of the month. It will be priced slightly higher than the current model.
