The upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class SUV has been spotted with minimal camouflage. In essence, this is a facelift for what is currently known as the GL-Class SUV. The changes are mostly cosmetic and will be majorly focussed on the exterior of the vehicle.
These new set of spy pictures reveal restyled bumpers, headlights, as well as a revised shape for the avant-garde grille which is now more in line with the new design philosophy of the German automaker. The side profile remains the same whereas Mercedes-Benz has fitted a new rear bumper which is now more rounded and a bit curvy as compared to the outgoing model’s flat design.
We expect the cabin to get updates rather than a complete design overhaul as this model is an intermediate before the German automaker introduces an all-new GLS in 2017. There will be no mechanical changes apart from the 7G-Tronic gearbox being replaced by a nine-speed unit which should majorly improve fuel economy as well as long-distance driving comfort.
This new car will make its debut at the 2016 Detroit Motor Show and is expected to be launched in the Indian market by the middle of next year.
