Mercedes-Benz has taken the wraps off its highly anticipated GLE63 AMG S Coupe. In standard fashion the GLE 63AMG has all the looks of its standard sibling but with the added AMG aggressiveness and some grunt under the hood to match the butch looks.
The GLE63 gets the AMG-spec body kit and thanks to this the front and rear have the same design elements as the S63 AMG sedan. The side profile reveals a low roofline which rakes sharply at the back while the wheel arches are softly flared but quite wide.
The interior of this vehicle has a lot of elements carried over from the standard car. However, some of the changes include a flat bottomed wheel, revised instrument cluster, leather wrapped dashboard and AMG floor mats.
Where things get exciting is under the hood. This car is powered by a 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 577bhp and 760Nm of torque. Transmission to the wheels is done via an AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC transmission and a rear-biased 4MATIC AWD system. 0-100kmph gets done in 4.2 seconds while top speed is expected to be electronically limited to around 250kmph.
The car has been designed to compete with the BMW X6M and sure looks to be ready for the part. The standard GLE will have a European launch later this year with an Indian launch scheduled for the end of this year.
