The boys at Affalterbach have been busy again and this time around their tinkering on the standard Mercedes-Benz models has resulted in the GLC43 AMG Coupe. This is the latest in a line of performance vehicles from the German automaker and joins the likes of the GLE63 and the GLS63 AMG.
Firstly, powering this mini beast is a 3.0-litre V6 petrol motor producing a mouth-watering 367bhp and 520Nm of torque with power going to all four wheels via a nine-speed ZF AT and Merc’s 4MATIC AWD system. Interaction with the road is addressed through the German automaker’s air suspension system with adaptive damping as well as sports steering. Also included in the package is a plethora of driving aids.
As is the case with most of the vehicles in the Mercedes stable these days, the exterior changes are subtle but includes bigger AMG spec wheels, subtle hints of chrome and of course sporty bumpers. Inside though, things get a bit more exciting thanks to the two-tone interior, sporty steering wheel chrome mouldings and course AMG badging everywhere to tell you that this sport coupe means business.
A combination of the latest Mercedes-Benz design with the crazy performance that AMG is known for, the GLC43 Coupe will be officially unveiled at the 2016 Paris Motor Show and then go on sale in the subsequent week after the debut.
Given our sudden love for crossovers and SUVs, this vehicle is sure to come to India. Expect it in mid-2017 with prices expected to hover around the Rs 75 lakh mark. It will of course be a niche product and come via the CBU route.
