Mercedes-Benz is scheduled to fully reveal the new GLC on June 17, in Germany. However, before the global debut, the car has been spotted undergoing final tests on public roads.
As a part of Mercedes’ new naming structure, the next-generation of the GLK will be renamed GLC when it arrives later this year. The latter is said to be based on the latest generation C-Class and as a result, the GLC will share most of the underpinnings with the new C. Interestingly, the GLC will also be available in right-hand drive configuration, meaning it will be sold in markets including the UK and a few Asian regions. Available from start in left-hand drive only, the existing GLK never made it to the above mentioned markets.
The availability of a right-hand drive configuration means that Mercedes-Benz India, too, will be able to sell this vehicle in India to compete with the likes of BMW X3 and Audi Q5. More details on the new GLC will be disclosed closer to its global debut in June this year.
