German automaker Mercedes-Benz will be launching the much awaited GLC in India tomorrow. The mid-sized SUV will fill the gap between the GLA and the GLE. The new vehicle will emerge as a competitor to the popular ones like the Audi Q5 and the BMW X3.
The upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLC will be offered in petrol and diesel engine options. The GLC 300 gets a 2.0-litre, direct-injection, turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine which generates 245bhp and 370Nm of torque. The GLC 220d gets a 2.2-litre diesel engine which generates 168bhp and 400Nm of torque. Both the engines come mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Speaking of interiors, the GLC gets some similar touches like the C-Class. Matt wood finish on the centre console and door pads gives it a rich and premium feel. Features like ambient lighting and Apple CarPlay are offered as standard. In terms of safety, the GLC will be loaded with all modern safety features along with airbags and ABS with EBD. On the pricing aspect, as the car will be brought in via the CBU route, we anticipate it to be initially priced between Rs 55 lakh – Rs 60 lakh. Additional details on the vehicle will be revealed tomorrow.
