Mercedes-Benz might unveil the GLA 45 AMG at the North American International Auto Show scheduled to take place in Detroit this month. The crossover has been rendered in production disguise before the official unveiling.
The German automaker displayed the GLA 45 AMG concept last year in Los Angeles. The production version of this vehicle is expected to carry most of the traits from the concept version. The renderings shown in the image show the same design without many changes. These images give us a fair idea of how the final variant of the crossover might look when it will go on sale this year.
The Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 AMG, put forth as a performance crossover, will be powered by the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-charged engine that the AMG variants of the A-Class and CLA are equipped with. It is capable of producing 360bhp of power and 450Nm of torque. It comes mated to a seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT gearbox and power is delivered to all the wheels via the all-wheel-drive 4MATIC system. The car will be capable of doing the 0 to 60kmph sprint in less than five seconds. However, the top-speed of the vehicle will be electronically limited to 250kmph.
We expect the upcoming car to be unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show in a few days. The GLA 45 AMG will reach the dealerships abroad probably in mid-2014 when it will go on sale.
