- Will debut alongside the production-spec EQG
- To boast a higher range and a few unique features
We’re almost at the end of the current calendar year and Mercedes-Benz has already announced its first launch for the new year. The brand will begin the innings of 2025 with the launch of a five-seater variant of the EQS 450 SUV.
Scheduled to be launched on 9 January, which will coincide with the company’s annual press conference and the debut of the production-ready EQG, the new EQS variant will get a few technical and feature-related enhancements too.
Starting with features, the new Mercedes-Benz EQS 450 SUV five-seat variant will boast an ‘Electric Art’ exterior design package, 21-inch alloy wheels in a black finish, luxury seats, spare wheel, and an air purifier, or what the automaker calls ‘Energizing Air Control Plus’.
Propelling the new offering in the Mercedes-Benz line-up will be a 122kWh battery pack, which is the largest of its kind to be offered in the Indian market. This battery, paired with two electric motors, will return a higher range than the 809km offered with the seven-seat variant currently on sale. According to Mercedes, the new five-seater variant will appeal to families wanting a two-row version. Further, they will benefit from a slightly longer range.
