- Gets a claimed range of up to 560km
- Offered in a single battery size option
The EQA is the most affordable electric SUV that Mercedes-Benz offers here in India. It is priced at Rs. 66 lakh (ex-showroom) and comes in a single fully loaded variant called EQA 250+. The EQA is essentially an electrified version of the GLA and besides an entirely different form of propulsion, it also gets additional features over the GLA. More importantly, the EQA has a claimed driving range of 560km but what’s the reality like? Let’s find out.
After charging it to 100 per cent, we reset the trip meter and drove it on our predefined route, which includes both city and highway usage, till the battery was completely drained. The EQA covered a distance of 445km before it came to a complete halt. Considering its on-paper range of 560km, the EQA achieved over 79 per cent of what Mercedes-Benz claims in the WLTP cycle.
The EQA is powered by a 70.5kWh battery pack paired with a single electric motor that makes 188bhp and 385Nm. An 11kW AC charging allows the EQA to be charged from 0-100 per cent in seven hours and 15 minutes, while 10-80 per cent via a 100kW DC charger takes just 35 minutes.
