The Mercedes-Benz Electric G-Class a.k.a the G-Class with EQ Power has been launched in India at Rs. 3 crore (all-India ex-showroom). It is available in one fully loaded EQG 580 variant and the automaker has got bookings for the car that will take till Q3 of CY2025 to fulfil.
Given how iconic the G-Class is for the German automaker, it only makes sense that they picked up all the design elements, both inside and outside, of the G-Class but now adjusted to match the electric nature of the car. This includes the boxy design, dashboard and of course the dual-digital displays. The car is being offered with five exterior and one interior colour option.
Powering the G-Class are four electric motors producing a total of 579bhp and 1164Nm. The battery pack is a 116Kwh unit offering a range of 479km on a single charge and you get an o-100kmph time of 4.7 seconds. It gets all the off-road kit and its party piece is its ability to perform tank turns. This electric G-Class is currently unrivalled in terms of competition and sits right up there with cars like the Lamborghini Urus and the Bentley Bentayga.
