Now that the regular 2016 E-Class is out and about, Mercedes-Benz is concentrating on the high-performance E63 AMG. Spotted undergoing testing in Spain, this all-new version of one of the world’s fastest four-door sedans is well in development and is scheduled to launch next year.
The new E63 will make use of AMG’s new 4-litre bi-turbo V8 but with more than 503bhp – the maximum power this unit currently develops in the AMG GT S and the C63 S. As for the E63 AMG, the standard version is expected to develop around 550bhp, with a future S version likely to make around 35-40bhp more.
Going in to the details, the new E63 will also feature Merc’s 4Matic all-wheel drive system, while certain reports claim that the brand could ditch rear-wheel drive configuration altogether.
The new Mercedes E63 AMG will arrive sometime next year and will continue to boast of supercar-rivalling performance along while blending in practicality of a four-door sedan.
