Mercedes-Benz has launched the new E350 CDI today at their Centre of Excellence, in Chakan, Pune. Priced at Rs 57.42 lakh (Ex-showroom Pune), this vehicle boasts of a six-cylinder engine and the Intelligent Drive technology, which the company claims, is a benchmark in safety.
With the addition of more elegance, distinction and power, this four-door premium sedan carries forward the legacy of the E-Class. Externally, the new front-end design and other modifications are said to be in line with Mercedes-Benz's all-new design philosophy that was introduced with the feclifted E-Class. The headlamps, as a matter of fact, retains the four-eyed look common to the E-Class The car's cabin adorns premium materials such as the high gloss black ash wood trim. The infotainment system begins with the Harman Kardon systme with voice control and this includes a spectacular rear seat entertainment system.
The panoramic sunroof, which it says is the largest in the segment, is now standard across the E-Class portfolio (E 200 and E 250CDI), adding a lot of value for the customers who looks for the best of features. It also gets 17-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels. It also includes as convenience, the Intelligent Drive Technology that the E250 is also equipped with. The car gets the Distronic Plus adaptive cruise control with Steering Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, pedestrian recognition, Cross Traffic Assistant, blind-spot warning, adaptive high-beam lights and automatic parking.
The Mercedes-Benz E350 CDI is powered by a 3.5-litre V6 diesel mill that churns out around 261bhp of power and 620Nm of torque. The manufacturer has slightly detuned this engine for the Indian market. This mill comes mated to the company's 7G-tronic automatic gearbox, while the power is sent to the rear wheels. It goes to the 0-100 mark in 6.6 seconds.
The E-Class is the largest selling car from their range of cars and Mercedes-Benz has added another variant to their range with this model. The manufacturer has slotted the E350 CDI above the E250 CDI in automaker's line-up and will be manufactured locally from their Chakan plant. It is now the new top-of-the-line diesel variant in the E-Class.
