The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe and Cabriolet have been spied testing. The latest-gen E-Class range will make its American debut at the 2017 Detroit Motor Show. It will exhibit the new Mercedes-Benz family face and bring to American market, the latest generation of the German automaker's mid-size sedan.
The E-Class Coupe is based on the MRA rear-wheel-drive modular architecture, which translates to a roomier interior and a practical boot. Under the hood will be the same engine options as the E-Class Sedan and the Estate. The 3.0-litre inline-six engine or the four-cylinder turbocharged petrol and diesel engines can power the new E-Class Coupe. Also for the first time ever, the E-Class Coupe will receive the full-blown AMG treatment.
As with the E-Class Coupe, the drop-top E-Class will get a fabric roof top and be unveiled after the Coupe. It will carry the same design as the Coupe and also the same engine options. The Cabrio, unlike its predecessor, will receive the AMG treatment as well. It will sit in between the C-Class Cabrio and S-Class Cabrio both of which were launched in India recently.
As far as Indian launch of the duo is concerned, Mercedes-Benz hasn't even introduced the current generation of the E-Class to India yet. So expect the German brand to bring in the entire range of its premium sedan to the Indian shores sometime next year.
