The new-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class has bagged top honours by being declared Premium Car of the Year at ICOTY 2025. It scored 140 points to beat out the BMW 5 Series (107 points) and Kia Carnival (65 points).
Launched in October 2024, this new-gen E-Class is the second time that we are getting the LWB E-Class for the Indian market and are the only RHD market in the world to get the E-Class in this configuration. It can be had with either a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol or a 2.0-litre diesel engine. Both have been paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system and a nine-speed automatic gearbox is available.
Some of the major highlights of this new-gen E-Class include a 14.4-inch touchscreen unit, fully digital driver's display, latest MBUX system, four-zone climate control, digital vent control, rear seat recline function, 64-colour ambient lighting and electric blinds for the second row. The top three contenders have beaten vehicles like the BMW i5, BYD Seal, Mini Cooper S, Mercedes-Benz EQS Maybach and the Mercedes EQS SUV.
