Now that the standard Mercedes GLE range is out and there have been divided opinions with regards to its controversial design, it is now time for the range topping AMG tuned version to present itself out in the wild.
According to a few reports, it is believed that Mercedes could reveal the GLE 63 AMG in a couple of weeks’ time, at the 2015 Detroit Motor Show. This AMG developed version will distinguish itself from the rest of the range with the help of a more aggressively styled exterior and of course, with the firepower under the hood.
The GLE 63 AMG could make use of the same 4-litre, twin turbo V8 engine that powers the AMG GT and the C63 AMG. Power output, in all probability, will be close to 500bhp of power and 640Nm of torque.
While the standard GLE competes with the BMW X6, this high-performance version will take on the X6M which uses a 4.4-litre, twin turbocharged V8 engine that develops 567bhp of power and 750Nm of torque.
