- Will spawn next-gen sedan, SUV and EV
- Could be launched in 2026
Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the Concept CLA-Class at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo. It's a preview of the automaker’s next-gen entry-level models and is expected to spawn a sedan, SUV, and most likely an EV too.
The major highlight of the Concept CLA is an 800V architecture affording the capability of fast charging at 250kWh, a number yet to be achieved by any manufacturer until now. Powertrain details are not fully revealed but the automaker has said that it is powered by a 235bhp RWD motor mated to a two-speed transmission.
Some of the major design highlights include the long hood with stubby boot, 20-inch wheels, fastback roofline, and a completely new design for the headlamps. The car is expected to be bigger than the outgoing model and will thus offer a longer wheelbase and hopefully more headroom. It's also expected to get the usual host of luxuries including Merc’s MBUX hyperscreen.
A global debut is set for mid-2025. The car will then come to India and in fact we expect India to be one of the first markets to get the car in sedan and SUV guise probably in late 2025.
