Mercedes-Benz has launched the 2015 CLS 250 CDI in India for Rs 76.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The CL S250CDI is latest coupe style sedan from the German automaker and is brought to the Indian market via the CBU route.
On the external front, the Mercedes-Benz CLS 250 CDI gets redesigned headlamps with optional Multibeam LED headlights (regular LED lights will be standard), a new A-Class inspired front grille and a sporty front bumper. Though these changes are very subtle in terms of styling, they are very significant. However, changes at the back are minimal, which include a slight change in the tail-lamp design profile.
Some of the newer features in the car include ambient lighting in three shades, command online with 360 degree camera and 8 airbags. This also one of the first vehicles to introduce cloud based access to various Mercedes-Benz mobile apps.
The CLS250 CDI uses the same 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that powers a variety of Mercedes-Benz models. It churns out 204bhp of power and 400Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed 7G Tronic automatic gearbox.
Mercedes-Benz is all gung-ho about their strategy of bringing in new products for the Indian market. The two new luxury cars are a part of their launch strategy for our country. The new-gen CLS-Class made its international debut in June 2014 and now competes with the Audi A7 and BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe in the Indian market.
