Mercedes-Benz India has launched the CLE Cabriolet in the country at an asking price of Rs. 1. 10 crore (ex-showroom). The new two-door convertible is being offered in a sole CLE 300 variant. Notably, it will be imported into India in limited numbers.
On the design front, the new CLE flaunts a large low-slung mesh grille with a huge brand logo in the centre, long bonnet with ridges, sleek LED DRLs embedded inside the headlamps, and AMG-themed sportier front and rear bumpers. Moreover, the performance Cabriolet rides on 19-inch AMG alloy wheels and also comes equipped with a retractable fabric roof that can be unfolded completely in just 20 seconds at speeds of up to 60kmph.
In terms of features, the CLE 300 Cabriolet is identical to the current-gen C-Class. It comes loaded with a three-spoke steering wheel with a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, 11.9-inch touchscreen infotainment screen that runs on the latest MBUX software, climate control, smartphone connectivity, and ventilated and powered AMG seats.
Mechanically, the CLE 300 Cabriolet sources power from a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a nine-speed torque converter unit and a 48V mild-hybrid system. This motor is tuned to generate 255bhp and 400Nm of peak torque with a claimed zero to 100kmph run in just 6.6 seconds.
