Mercedes-Benz USA has started rolling out the 2015 model year CLA and with that, the German automaker has also announced a price hike of up to 5 per cent over the existing model. The compact luxury sedan is now more expensive than its arch rival – the Audi A3.
The entry-level CLA now costs $1600 (Rs 1.13 lakh) more than before. The 2015 model, as a result, costs $31,500 (Rs 19.95 lakh) in the USA. The all-wheel drive version, meanwhile, also falls under the price hike with prices starting at $34,425 (Rs 21.80 lakh), up by 5 per cent over the previous model.
Lastly, the range topping CLA 45 AMG now costs $49425 (Rs 31.31 lakh), which marks a 2 per cent hike in prices over the earlier AMG-tuned model. Besides the price hike, Mercedes has updated the CLA for 2015 with an updated infotainment which now houses an 8-inch screen and improved visuals for the COMMAND system and the head-up display.
The Mercedes CLA mainly competes with the Audi A3 in the USA. While the latter is now on sale in the Indian market, Mercedes-Benz India is expected to launch the CLA early next year.
