Mercedes-Benz India is on a roll. They have already launched eleven vehicles and are on their way to introduce the 12th vehicle this year. This is the CLA facelift that will be launched for the Indian market tomorrow.
The upcoming CLA sedan has been refreshed for 2017. The exterior changes include a restyled front with bigger air vents, a new diamond radiator grille and LED headlights. The side profile remains almost the same, but the new design pattern for the alloys make the car look even better. The rear end also gets updated with a reworked bumper and restyled tail lamps.
Mercedes has also brought in many changes in the CLA’s cabin. The most prominent one is the new eight-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay. There will be some more updates which include revised switch gear and a new instrument cluster. Furthermore, the carmaker has included Active Brake Assist amongst other features. This new feature enables the car to stop automatically in case of a potential collision scenario.
The powertrain options are expected to be the same with both petrol and engine options. The petrol trim is powered by a 1,991cc petrol mill that pumps out 180bhp of power and 300Nm of torque. On the other hand, the diesel variant employs the 2,143cc turbocharged unit that belts out 130bhp of power and 300Nm of torque. Both the engines come mated to a seven-speed automatic gearbox.
Mercedes-Benz had unveiled this facelifted CLA just ahead of its premiere on March 23 at the New York Auto Show. The new updates to the car as a part of its mid-life makeover and this CLA will continue to be assembled at the carmaker's facility at Chakan, Maharashtra. Upon launch it will compete with the Audi A3, Toyota Camry and the Skoda Superb in our country.
