The 2016 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe has been spotted undergoing trials in Europe. This two-door coupe will be introduced as a 2016 model and will rival other high-performance coupes like the BMW M4, Cadillac ATS-V Coupe and the Lexus RC F.
The overall design of the C63 AMG Coupe is expected to be similar to C-Class sedan, though this version will lose out on the two rear doors. The massive air intakes complement the new aggressive front fascia of the two-door coupe, lending it an uncanny resemblance to the bigger S63 AMG Coupe. The spy shots also give us a peek of the high-performance brakes and the four-pipe sports exhaust system.
Powering the C63 AMG Coupe will be the 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which is also used in the AMG GT sportscar. This engine produces 454bhp and 600Nm of torque, all of which is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed AMG SpeedShift dual-clutch transmission.
The standard C-Class Coupe is expected to make its debut later this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany, which means that the C63 AMG Coupe’s launch might get pushed back to early 2016. Prices are expected to start at USD 65,000 (Rs 41.32 lakh) in the US market.
