Mercedes-Benz India has introduced a new edition of the C-Class sedan in India called the Edition C along with a new colour – hyacinth red. This is the second time the Edition C badge is being used in India. Earlier it had adorned the previous generation C-Class (W204) just before it got replaced by the current C-Class.
The Edition C gets high gloss finished black highlights on the lip spoiler under the front bumper as well as the spoiler in the back. The new five twin-spoke alloys also gets the black treatment. Inside, the Edition C gets an open-pore black ash wood trim to continue the dark theme. The standard pedals have been replaced with the sporty aluminium pedals with rubber inserts. The infotainment system gets a Garmin navigation system while the rear-view mirrors get the Mercedes logo projector underneath.
The Edition C C200 petrol is priced at Rs 42.54 lakhs, ex-showroom India, while the C220d comes for Rs 43.54 lakhs. The top of the line diesel C250d is priced at Rs 46.87 lakhs. The petrol C200 comes with a 2.0-litre 181bhp engine while both the diesels get the 2143cc turbocharged mill. Both the engines drive the rear wheels through a seven-speed automatic gearbox.
The W205 Mercedes C-Class was launched in India back in 2014 and is ideally due for it mid-life update by the end of 2017.
